Lagos Life is a free, Sims-style multiplayer life game set in Lagos, Nigeria, playable straight from the browser on phone or desktop. You make a character, find a job, rent and furnish a place, pay weekly rent and keep six needs topped up (hunger, energy, hygiene, bladder, fun and social) while getting around the city by danfo and other transport.
The map is full of real Lagos spots: Afrika Shrine, Amala Shitta, CcHub in Yaba, Quilox, Balogun market, Freedom Park, The Palms and Elegushi beach. Everyone else in the city is a real player, so you can meet people, party together and send each other game money.
Developer Shalom built the first version in one night with AI-assisted coding and tweeted the link at 7 a.m. on Nigeria's Independence Day, 1 October 2026. It reportedly passed one million players within days and earned about $46.9k in its first four days from game-money top-ups and in-game billboards sold to brands.
